ADRIAN ALEJANDRO CRUZ is a showrunner, writer, director, and producer working in television, film, animation, and theater. He’s a published comic book creator and soon to be published novelist. He’s currently working with Eugenio Derbez’s company, 3Pas, on his original genre-bending action romance-horror-pilot, JOHNNY ROTTEN. His psychedelic western pilot, OUTLAW -- a visionary retelling of Zorro, centered around historical figure, Joaquin Murrietta, is set up at ViacomCBS International with Juan Campenella attached to direct. But Adrian is perhaps best known for co-creating the the stylish science-fiction mini-series, ASCENSION, for the Syfy Network — as well as for directing the divisive, critically acclaimed, indie film, EAT ME. Having graduated USC with dual degrees in Film and Theater, Adrian continues to maintain a presence in the LA Theater scene as playwright, director, and producer. He published his graphic novel series, SEED, with European publishing giant Les Humanoides Associes, and his original neo-noir action comic book, HARDCASE, is due to be published as an illustrated novella from NeoText in 2023.
Adrian is a proud graduate of the WGA’s esteemed SHOWRUNNER TRAINING PROGRAM (2015) where he learned an immense amount from the likes of Glenn Mazzara, Matt Nix, Cartlon Cuse, and John Wells.
With a Puerto Rican father & Scottish mother, Adrian has lived all over the world, including Kenya, Mexico & Brazil. He maintains both US and UK passports.
