A celebration of writers and writing, and the incredible work they do that, more often than not, goes unseen and unrecognized -- each week we hope to bring to you original work written by one of the many talented professional scribes out there on the picket line -- sometimes plays, sometimes prose or poetry, and occasionally an unproduced or "dead" pilot. It should be noted, these presentations are not, and should not be taken as, solicitations -- the WGA Strike Rules prohibit the presentation of material for sale to the stuck companies and we aim to abide by those rules and the intentions behind them. Writer's write. Often times that work goes unseen, this is a celebration of those works that might not otherwise find an audience.
These Works In Progress, dramatized for your enjoyment as "staged readings" by a coterie of talented actors, are not intended as a final product, or a definitive vision of the work -- but rather, as a fleeting glimpse of what they could've been, or might yet be; celebration of the work, vision, and passion of the writer. Each reading will be followed by a deep dive, creative discussion with the author not only about the script we’ve just heard, but also their career and writing journey, the creative process, the industry, the strike and whatever else comes up!
